Texans Face Setbacks with Six Players Declared Out for Sunday Showdown

A challenging matchup awaits the Houston Texans this Sunday. Taking on a team like the Buffalo Bills is always daunting, especially considering neither team performed well in their previous outings.

Despite the close victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in a divisional clash, DeMeco Ryans’ squad did everything possible to jeopardize their win. On the other side, the Bills faced their first defeat of the season against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Texans will be missing several key players for this game, as reported by Aaron Wilson. To start, defensive end Derek Barnett’s absence will impact their pass rush.

Additionally, the running game is expected to face challenges, as both starting running back Joe Mixon and backup Dameon Pierce will be sidelined, leaving Cam Akers to take on the primary ball-carrying duties once again.

Outside linebacker Jake Hansen, wide receiver Steven Sims, and tackle Tytus Howard will also be unavailable in Week 5.

Initially viewed as strong dark horse contenders from the AFC, the Texans have not yet lived up to those expectations in the first month of the season; however, they have still managed to secure three wins out of their first four games.

This matchup promises to be tightly contested, featuring two of the league’s top quarterbacks, making it intriguing to see who will emerge victorious.
