Pistons Set to Shift Isaiah Stewart to New Position

The Detroit Pistons are eager to turn things around after last season’s disappointing performance. With a new head coach in place, they’re looking to implement fresh strategies for the 2024-25 season.

Evan Sidery reports that one of these changes involves moving Isaiah Stewart from power forward to center. This shift positions Stewart as the team’s primary backup big man.

In the previous season, Stewart posted an average of 10.9 points and 6.6 rebounds, and the team is aiming to see even greater production from him in the upcoming year.

Stewart, entering his fifth season with the Pistons, has only played for Detroit and has career averages of 9.3 points and 7.6 rebounds. Despite last year’s struggles, Stewart has consistently shown loyalty and dedication to the franchise.

The Pistons, after enduring a rough 2023-24 campaign, are seeking substantial changes to improve their fortunes. More adjustments are likely on the horizon, as head coach JB Bickerstaff aims to steer the team in a better direction.

While the roster is filled with promising young talent, including Cade Cunningham, Jalen Duren, Jaden Ivey, and Ausar Thompson, translating that talent into wins has proven difficult.

Detroit’s 14-68 record last season was historically poor, and they are now looking for a brighter future with moves like Stewart’s new role.
