Key Player Back on the Field for Texans at Friday’s Practice

Aiming to recover from a disappointing defeat against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 3, the Houston Texans are focused on securing a win against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 4.

The Texans might regain a crucial player, as footage of star running back Joe Mixon practicing surfaced after he missed the game against the Vikings due to injury.

Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston shared a video showing Mixon back on the field for the first time since sustaining an ankle injury during the Week 2 victory over the Chicago Bears.

Having their top running back in action is encouraging for the Texans, especially considering that the offense has only scored 26 points in his absence.

Mixon had a standout performance in Week 1, racking up 159 yards and a touchdown on 30 carries in a thrilling 29-27 victory against the Indianapolis Colts.

This season marks Mixon’s debut with Houston after spending his first seven seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he achieved four 1,000-yard rushing seasons and accumulated 49 touchdowns.

Without Mixon in the lineup against Minnesota, the Texans’ rushing attack struggled so much, with Cam Akers managing only nine carries for 21 yards.

In Week 2 against the Bears, Akers and Dare Ogunbowale combined for a mere 35 rushing yards on nine carries after Mixon’s injury, highlighting the team’s need for their starting RB to return to form.

As the Texans prepare for their AFC South showdown, keep an eye out for updates regarding Mixon’s ankle status, as he appears to be trending toward playing.
