Fresh Details Surface About Micah Parsons’ Injury Status

Thursday night’s game against the New York Giants brought a major scare for the Dallas Cowboys. While they managed to secure a narrow 20-15 win over their division rivals, they lost one of their top players to injury in the process.

During the second half, standout edge-rusher Micah Parsons left the field with what was later diagnosed as a high-ankle sprain. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport shared that the upcoming schedule could provide the Cowboys with a timely opportunity for Parsons to heal.

Micah Parsons left Thursday night’s game with an injury, raising concerns about his availability as the Cowboys head into a challenging schedule (Dallas Cowboys)

“The Cowboys have a full 10 days between games, giving star Micah Parsons extra time to recover…It’s Steelers, then Lions, then a bye week. So if Parsons has to miss a few weeks, the bye comes at the perfect time,” Rapoport posted Friday morning on social media.

While the timing of the bye week seems fortunate for Dallas, their upcoming slate of games isn’t particularly easy. They’re set to face the Steelers, Lions, and 49ers over the next three weeks before getting their break after the Detroit matchup.

Whether Parsons is available or not, the Cowboys could potentially find themselves with a 2-5 record if they don’t improve from their performance against the Giants.

What separated Dallas from New York in this contest was New York’s inability to find the end zone. The Giants settled for five field goals instead of touchdowns. Had they converted even one of those into a score, the conversation in Dallas could have been far more alarming.
