Solo Sikoa was recently given another opportunity to face Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship. However, before this match was confirmed, Rhodes had initially offered the title shot to Sikoa’s fellow Bloodline member, Jacob Fatu.
Despite this offer, Fatu declined the chance, and WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi weighed in, expressing that his nephew might not be ready for such an outstanding challenge at this point.
Rikishi shared his thoughts on the “Off The Top” podcast, stating, “Jacob is being pushed too quickly. If you go straight to Cody, what’s next? Cody is the top guy right now. I’ve said before, let Jacob dominate the roster first. Give him some enhancement matches to build momentum. He doesn’t need more than three minutes.
We’ve seen Jacob for a few months now, but what’s really different? You can only showcase so much in a run-in. What I’m saying is, if you’re serious about him, give him a squash match to show off his potential and what else he can do.” Rikishi further emphasized, “I wouldn’t put Jacob against Cody yet. That match doesn’t deserve to happen at this stage.”
With Fatu declining the championship opportunity, Sikoa stepped up for the title shot during the September 13 episode of “WWE SmackDown.” After Rhodes successfully defended his title, The Bloodline launched an attack, only for Roman Reigns to make a surprise return and even the odds. Looking ahead, Rhodes and Reigns are now scheduled to take on Fatu and Sikoa in a tag match at WWE Bad Blood.
