Bianca Belair Reflects on Her Journey: Balancing Love and WWE Ambitions

Bianca Belair may have stepped back from chasing singles championships, but her 2024 has been remarkably active. Together with her new partner Jade Cargill, she has won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships twice and secured a prominent spot at WrestleMania, where they triumphed alongside Naomi against Kairi Sane, Asuka, and Dakota Kai of Damage CTRL.

A milestone for Belair came when she and her husband made the leap from wrestling stars to reality television personalities by starring in the Hulu series “Love and WWE: Bianca and Montez.” Despite her achievements in the ring, Belair mentioned in a recent appearance on the “Battleground Podcast” that the reality show stands out as the highlight of her year thus far.

Initially hesitant about reality TV, Belair mentioned that the experience has been enjoyable, aiming to attract new fans to wrestling while revealing their authentic selves (WWE)

“I would say the highlight this year would be my husband and I’s reality series coming out on Hulu…,” Belair shared. “That was something very new that we got to experience together.

I feel like we really got to pull the curtain back and show a different side of us to the WWE Universe. We also aimed to attract the attention of those unfamiliar with wrestling, hoping to bring them into our world. That was a highlight.”

Belair expressed her initial reservations about participating in a reality series. Since the release of “Love and WWE” in February, fans have been eager to know if there will be a second season. While she couldn’t confirm its future, she mentioned that they should receive news soon and indicated her openness to returning, despite her earlier doubts about reality TV.

“We’re still waiting back,” Belair said. “We should be hearing soon if we’re going to have a season two. But it was a great experience. Initially, I was someone who said, ‘I’m never doing reality TV.’

At home, I’m more laid back, while my husband is the lively one, so I felt quite anxious about it. However, we agreed to be authentic rather than striving for perfection. The experience was really good since I travel and work with him, and now I’m at home working with him, too.”

“But it was great because… I was in a different environment. On camera, I wasn’t Bianca Belair, the WWE Superstar. When the camera crew is in your home, they encourage you to ‘Just be you.’

However, my instinct is to slip into Bianca Belair mode, which felt odd. It was a strange experience, but incredibly busy. We filmed from Royal Rumble to WrestleMania and continued for two months afterward. So, it turned into six months without any days off. It was tiring, but a good experience.”
