WWE NXT Taping Reportedly Canceled Due to Scheduling Change

WWE NXT (WWE)

The move for “WWE NXT” from USA Network to The CW is right around the corner, and there’s speculation that more changes could be in store. Two shows are already lined up outside the usual venue in Florida, set for October 1 in Chicago and October 8 in St. Louis. However, it seems these may not be the only events taking place on the road.

Fightful Select has reported that an “NXT” taping, originally planned for November 5 at the Performance Center, has been called off. While no official reason was given, “NXT” insiders suggest a number of possible explanations, including the idea that they might film two episodes in advance to avoid scheduling issues with WWE’s Crown Jewel event in Riyadh. This theory is currently the most likely cause.

There have also been rumors swirling about the potential end of “NXT Level Up,” but sources have firmly denied such claims. According to Fightful, scrapping “Level Up” would be seen as error, as the show plays an important role in showcasing up-and-coming talent. Sources noted that future episodes are already loaded with exciting matchups, making it clear the show isn’t going anywhere.

As “NXT” gears up for its October 2 debut on The CW, fans can expect some high-profile matchups. Roxanne Perez will defend her NXT Women’s Championship against newly signed Japanese star Giulia.

Additionally, Ethan Page will clash with Trick Williams for the NXT Championship, with CM Punk officiating as the special guest referee. The action continues on October 8 in St. Louis, where Randy Orton is scheduled to face the promising rookie Je’Von Evans in his hometown, while rapper Sexyy Red is set to make an appearance.
