Rhea Ripley has made a remarkable impact in WWE since her debut in 2017, gaining attention for her incredible strength, commanding presence, and distinctive wrestling style.

One of the hallmarks of her approach is her unconventional pinning technique, famously known as the pretzel pin, which diverges from the traditional leg hook.

In a recent interview with “The Wrestling Classic,” Ripley shared the origins of this unique pin and its previous name before her arrival in WWE.

Reflecting on her early days, Ripley noted, “I’ve been using that pin since I was a child in Australia. Back home, we called it the sexy pin, and I thought that was pretty amusing.”

She also discussed some memorable moments from the past year, including her viral stink face against Nia Jax at a WWE house show and her unexpected licks on Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio during live broadcasts.

Describing the stink face incident, Ripley mentioned, “It was really spontaneous to see how far I could push it. There was some discussion about it beforehand, but I wasn’t sure how I would feel in the moment.

I kept overthinking things until I decided to just go for it.” While she acknowledged that the stink face felt awkward, her commitment to performing Rikishi’s signature move was unwavering.

Additionally, Ripley revealed that her lick on Mysterio was planned, while the decision to lick Morgan during Bash in Berlin came entirely out of nowhere.
