CM Punk has found himself as a frequent target for trolling in the WWE locker room since making his comeback last year.
Drew McIntyre stands out as a prominent figure in this trend, creatively mocking Punk, his AEW past, his bracelet, and personal issues with Jack Perry. Now, it appears that NXT Champion “All Ego” Ethan Page is eager to join in on the fun.
On Wednesday morning, Page posted a photo on X of himself signing an autograph for Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton, who also appeared on the latest episode of “NXT.”
In his caption, Page jokingly complained about how “the fans at the airports are getting to be obnoxious,” and mockingly requested that fans “respect the talent’s privacy.”
While this might seem like harmless ribbing directed at Haliburton, astute fans could interpret it as a jab at Punk. Earlier, Punk had shared an Instagram Story detailing an awkward encounter with a fan during a flight to Portland for “Raw,” where the fan insisted on an autograph despite Punk’s repeated refusals.
Punk had called on fans to “respect boundaries and privacy,” a sentiment that resonates with Page’s earlier comments. Page’s intentions to rattle Punk may have both positive and negative implications, especially since Punk recently became involved in Page’s storyline on “NXT.”
Punk announced he would serve as the special guest referee for Page’s title match against Trick Williams during the debut episode of “NXT” on The CW. This episode will take place in Punk’s hometown of Chicago, making it unlikely that Page’s trolling will earn him any favor with Punk.
