More than nine months have passed since Charlotte Flair last stepped into a WWE ring. The 38-year-old last competed on the December 8, 2023 episode of “WWE SmackDown,” where she suffered serious injuries to her ACL, MCL, and meniscus during a match against Asuka.
Fans have been eagerly anticipating her return, given the seriousness of her injury. Fortunately, there are signs of positive progress. Recent reports from Fightful Select indicate that WWE has begun discussing preliminary creative plans involving current WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax and Money in the Bank holder Tiffany Stratton.
Although these discussions have taken place, WWE sources emphasize that Flair is not yet medically cleared to return to action, and her recovery will take time due to the severity of her injuries. Plans for her return will only be finalized once she is officially cleared to compete, but there is already an outline of what her comeback might entail.
As 2024 rapidly approaches its end, WWE sources have shared with Fightful that they do not expect Flair to compete at any point this year. However, if anyone can recover ahead of schedule, it’s “The Queen.”
At the beginning of the year, Flair noted that she was progressing faster than expected, sharing videos of her workouts on social media. Despite this progress, it remains too soon to establish a concrete timeline for her return to the ring.
