Dave Bautista, a former WWE star, recently shared how he played a pivotal role in helping Drew McIntyre land his first movie role. Having built a successful Hollywood career, Bautista included McIntyre in his latest project, “The Killer’s Game,” directed by JJ Perry.

During his recent appearance on “Insight,” Bautista explained his contribution to securing the Scotsman’s spot in the film.

“I really just pointed everyone toward Drew,” Bautista noted when asked about his involvement in McIntyre’s casting. “I was chatting with JJ, who mentioned he needed a large, intimidating guy—someone who would dwarf him.

He also needed someone capable of pulling off a Scottish accent. I immediately thought, ‘Man, I have the perfect guy,’ and that was Drew.”

The Hollywood star also reflected on his long-standing friendship with McIntyre, recalling that he has known him since he was a teenager. “I love Drew. We’ve always gotten along well, and I met him when he was probably just 19.”

After his conversation with Perry, Bautista reached out to McIntyre to see if he was interested in the opportunity. McIntyre expressed enthusiasm, leading Bautista to suggest he talk to Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who also approved the project.

Bautista commended Levesque for transforming WWE since taking over, emphasizing that he is now open to allowing WWE talent to explore outside projects. He remarked that WWE felt more insular during his tenure, which contributed to his departure over a decade ago.
