Daniel Garcia recently faced MJF at AEW All Out, ending up with a loss. However, this defeat seems to have fueled his momentum rather than diminished it. During a discussion on “Wrestling With Freddie,” actor and former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. highlighted Garcia’s potential, drawing a comparison between him and John McClane, the iconic protagonist from the Die Hard franchise.
“He carries a lot of passion,” Prinze noted. “His promos are filled with raw emotion, making him seem genuine. He gives off that hardworking, down-to-earth vibe, much like a working-class hero.” Although Garcia didn’t win his major match against MJF, Prinze stressed that AEW needs to carefully select his next feud to ensure his continued rise.
He emphasized that Garcia needs a victory to solidify his standing. As a cautionary example, Prinze brought up Giovanni Vinci’s loss to Apollo Crews on “WWE SmackDown” after being portrayed as a serious contender, hoping AEW won’t make a similar misstep with Garcia’s trajectory. “I’m not a fan of the dance gimmick, but everything else about Daniel Garcia is spot on,” Prinze commented.
Additionally, Prinze shared admiration for MJF, recognizing his efforts to uplift others within AEW. He observed that MJF seems committed to boosting the visibility of his opponents, even though the task is too large for just one person.
Nonetheless, MJF’s determination to leave others looking strong, even in victory, did not go unnoticed. “He always finds a way to make his opponents shine, even when he wins,” Prinze added.
