During Armageddon 2006, Kane and MVP competed in an Inferno Match, following several prior confrontations, with “The Devil’s Favorite Demon” emerging victorious. In a recent virtual signing with “K&S WrestleFest,” MVP reflected on the intense experience of that fiery encounter.
Recounting the match, MVP described working with Kane as a terrifying experience. “They set me on fire, man,” he stated, underscoring the reality of being ignited during the bout.
However, he quickly mentioned that he wore protective gear underneath his wrestling attire. “I had a flannel suit soaked in this freezing cold gel, and then I wore a dry suit over that. The seamstress had to sew them together, and I wore the actual outfit on top.”
MVP humorously added that the outfit was so cold it made his prostate retract, yet it proved crucial for the moment he was set ablaze in the match. “One of the crazy things was that every time the flames shot up around the ring, there was gas released before the flames,” he recalled.
He noted that while selling a move during the match, he inhaled the gas and struggled to breathe for a few moments, which added to his fear in that intense situation.
