Cody Rhodes achieved a milestone at WrestleMania 40 by finally completing his “story” and taking down Roman Reigns to become the Undisputed WWE Champion. Since then, Rhodes has engaged in multiple rivalries, but some question whether his reign compares to that of Reigns, the “Original Tribal Chief.”
Rhodes successfully defended his title against Solo Sikoa on “WWE SmackDown,” though before the match, Booker T had reservations about whether Rhodes would emerge victorious.
Booker T, on his “Hall of Fame” podcast, praised Rhodes’ current run, stating, “Cody’s on an incredible journey, but his reign will end when the time is right. I’m not sure if that time is now from a storytelling point of view.”
He added that while Sikoa is being groomed as WWE’s next big star, it remained uncertain whether the rising talent, with The Bloodline in his corner, could take the title from Rhodes.
While Booker T is optimistic about Rhodes’ championship reign, others are more critical. Bully Ray, speaking on “Busted Open Radio,” argued that Rhodes’ run lacks a rival.
He cited The Rock as a formidable opponent for Rhodes, even though the ultimate goal was a match with Reigns. According to Bully, for Rhodes to have a more compelling title run, he needs a heel on par with The Rock, or his reign could continue to fall short of expectations.
