Following a three-month break, Natalya made her return to action during last week’s “WWE Raw” in a six-woman tag team match that took place in her hometown of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Though thrilled to be back in the ring, she also admitted that the experience stirred up a sense of anxiety.
During her appearance on “Growing Up Von Erich,” Natalya discussed her ongoing mental health journey, sharing how it fluctuates between good and bad days. She explained that while she sometimes feels confident, other times, like during her return, doubt can creep in.
“Right before I went through the curtain last week, I had this moment where I thought, ‘I’m nervous. I’m really nervous,'” Natalya recalled. “People are often surprised and ask, ‘You still get nervous?’ And I say, ‘Yes, because I care so deeply.’ Especially as a woman in this industry, it’s easy to put immense pressure on yourself, but then I remind myself why I’m here.
I try to keep a circle of supportive people around me who help lift me up.” Natalya also shared how the support of her family and close friends has played a crucial role in maintaining her mental health and boosting her spirits.
Among these friends are WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Bianca Belair, who offered her valuable words of encouragement ahead of her return. Additionally, Rhea Ripley, “The Eradicator,” offered a helping hand by assisting Natalya with zipping up her ring gear, a thoughtful gesture that was done without any request.
