WWE Star Drew McIntyre Declares This Match as His Career Best

Drew McIntyre’s run on WWE’s main roster, beginning with his push in 2020, has been marked by highly praised performances. A standout example of this acclaim occurred at WrestleMania 39 last April, where McIntyre competed in a triple threat match for the Intercontinental Championship against Sheamus and Gunther.

In a recent discussion on “Insight with Chris Van Vliet,” McIntyre expressed his high regard for the match and his opponents. “It’s probably the best match of my career,” McIntyre reflected. “How can you surpass the experience of WrestleMania, with a match that many are calling one of the greatest Mania matches ever and potentially the greatest triple threat of all time?”

McIntyre recounted how the audience’s reaction was overwhelming even before the match reached its peak. “Less than ten minutes in, the crowd was already chanting ‘This is awesome,’” he noted. “I thought, ‘We haven’t even gotten started yet.’”

He also shared how he and Sheamus had longed for a singles match at WrestleMania, with part of that dream fulfilled at WrestleMania 39. “The match had a cool storyline,” McIntyre said. “Eventually, Gunther was out of the picture, and Sheamus and I went back and forth for ten minutes. It felt like we were having that singles match we always wanted.”

Although Sheamus was not featured at WrestleMania 40, McIntyre captured his third WWE World Championship by defeating Seth Rollins. However, he soon lost the title to Damian Priest, setting the stage for an intensified rivalry with CM Punk.
