Dog Man Movie Trailer Revealed Starring Pete Davidson, Lil Rel Howery and Others

Dog Man is one of the biggest sensations in comics, and Universal Pictures is set to bring this beloved character to the big screen this January.

The trailer, synopsis, and voice cast were revealed this morning, building anticipation for what is expected to be a major hit this winter.

The film will feature the voice talents of Pete Davidson, Lil Rel Howery, Isla Fisher, Poppy Liu, Stephen Root, Billy Boyd, and Ricky Gervais. Directed by Peter Hastings, it is based on the best-selling book series by Dav Pilkey. Below is the official poster for the film.

Part dog, part man, all hero. From DreamWorks Animation—the creators behind the hit franchises Kung Fu Panda, How to Train Your Dragon, and The Boss Baby—comes the film adaptation of Dav Pilkey’s New York Times bestselling series: Dog Man.

When a loyal police dog and his human police officer partner are injured in the line of duty, a wild but life-saving surgery combines the two into one being, giving rise to a new hero—Dog Man.

Sworn to protect and serve (as well as fetch, sit, and roll over), Dog Man takes on his role with determination, aiming to win the approval of his Chief (voiced by Lil Rel Howery, Get Out, Free Guy).

However, he must also thwart the nefarious schemes of the feline supervillain, Petey the Cat (voiced by Pete Davidson, Saturday Night Live, The King of Staten Island), whose latest plot involves cloning himself to create Lil Petey, a kitten meant to double his crime-doing potential.

Things take an unexpected turn when Lil Petey forms a surprising bond with Dog Man.

But when Lil Petey falls into the hands of a shared enemy, Dog Man and Petey must set aside their differences and team up in a thrilling race against time to save the young kitten.

Along the way, they discover that the power of family—and even kittens—can bring the unlikeliest of adversaries together. The movie is set to hit theaters on January 31, 2025.
