New 2024 Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono Launched in Malaysia: Pricing for Base and RVE Models Revealed

The 2024 Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono has made its debut in Malaysia, offering two distinct variants. The entry-level Supermotard is priced at RM70,900, while the upgraded Hypermotard 698 Mono RVE is available for RM77,900. These prices do not include road tax, insurance, or registration fees.

Equipped with Ducati’s latest Superquadro Mono single-cylinder engine, this new model features a powertrain derived from the 1,285 cc Superquadro engine found in the 1299 Panigale. With a displacement of 659 cc, it delivers 77.5 hp at 9,750 rpm and 64 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. The engine boasts desmodromic valve actuation, titanium intake valves, and an oval throttle with an under-throttle injector.

The Hypermotard 698 Mono comes with a lightweight design, adjustable suspension, and Brembo brakes (Ducati)

For those seeking additional performance, the optional Ducati Performance Termignoni racing exhaust boosts power to 84.5 hp. Consistent with Ducati’s modern standards, the Hypermotard 698 Mono requires oil changes every 15,000 km and valve clearance checks every 30,000 km.

The motorcycle features a comprehensive suite of electronics, including the new Cornering ABS with Slide-by-Brake, Ducati Wheelie Control, Ducati Traction Control, and Engine Brake Control. Riders can choose from four riding modes—Sport, Road, Urban, and Wet—as well as three power modes and three wheelie modes.

An optional Ducati Performance software upgrade for the Ducati Wheelie Control is available, but it requires the track-only Ducati Performance Termignoni exhaust. This upgrade provides Wheelie Assist, which helps manage wheelie angles using engine torque.

Front suspension is handled by fully-adjustable Marzocchi forks, while the rear features a fully-adjustable Sachs monoshock with progressive linkage. Brembo supplies the braking components, with a lightweight 330 mm disc and M4.32 4-piston radial caliper at the front, and a 240 mm disc at the rear.

The Hypermotard 698 Mono RVE stands out with its Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up/Down EVO, which is also available as an optional upgrade for the base model. Additionally, the RVE variant includes unique graphics.

With a curb weight of 151 kg without fuel, the Hypermotard 698 Mono is fitted with cast alloy wheels and Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, measuring 120/70 ZR 17 at the front and 160/60 ZR 17 at the rear. It has a 12-litre fuel tank and a standard seat height of 904 mm, which can be lowered to 889 mm with the optional low seat, or further reduced to 849 mm with the combined lowering kit.
