Rapid Bus is sending 25 specially adapted buses to Sarawak for the Para Sukma Games 2024, taking place from September 20 to 28. These buses, designed to be accessible for individuals with disabilities, will transport athletes and officials throughout the event in Borneo.
The fleet consists of single-deck buses with features such as wide doors and ample space to accommodate wheelchairs. The vehicles are scheduled to be shipped on September 6, with an expected arrival in Kuching by September 13.
Ku Jamil Zakaria, COO of Rapid Bus, expressed pride in the collaboration with the Sarawak state government, underscoring the company’s commitment to supporting the disabled community’s involvement in national sports initiatives.
To facilitate operations, Rapid Bus will deploy a team of 44 staff members, including 30 drivers and 14 support personnel. This team will arrive in Kuching between September 13 and 15, with the drivers receiving route-specific training ahead of the games.
