Debuted at the 2024 Beijing Motor Show and now showcased at the ongoing 2024 Chengdu Motor Show, the second-generation Haval H9 is available in China with a starting pre-order price ranging from 205,900 yuan (RM126,026) to 235,900 yuan (RM144,282).
Produced at Haval’s Yongchuan plant in Chongqing, this latest iteration of the H9 offers both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant features a 165 kW (224 PS) 2.0-liter turbocharged engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Meanwhile, the diesel option includes a 137 kW (186 PS) 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine, coupled with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Both drivetrains come equipped with front, center, and rear locking differentials for enhanced off-road capability.
The Haval H9’s diesel engine is also found in the Great Wall Motor Poer Sahar Off-Road Edition, where it produces 184 PS and 480 Nm of torque.
In terms of dimensions, the Haval H9 measures 4,950 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,930 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. It boasts a towing capacity of 2,500 kg and a roof load rating of 75 kg. The vehicle rides on distinctive two-tone 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 265/55R19 tyres.
Inside, the H9 offers a spacious cargo area with a claimed capacity of 791 litres. Great Wall Motor touts this SUV as “the quietest off-road vehicle ever,” with cabin noise levels of 57 decibels at 80 km/h and 64.1 decibels at 120 km/h.
The interior features a 14.6-inch central infotainment touchscreen and physical controls for ease of use, alongside perforated leather upholstery. The second-row seats are foldable, enhancing the vehicle’s versatility. The 2024 Haval H9 is available in four exterior colors: Smoke Mist White, Roof Tile Black, Stone Blue Grey, and Mountain Green.
