BYD Seal Dynamic EV 2024 Launches in Malaysia – 204 PS, 310 Nm, 460 km Range, Priced at RM163,800

Today, Sime Darby Beyond Auto has launched the BYD Seal Dynamic Standard Range, completing the lineup for the popular EV sedan in Malaysia. This new variant reduces the entry price for the Seal, now set at RM163,800 (net, excluding on-the-road charges).

This price point is RM16,000 lower than the Premium model, which is priced at RM179,800, and RM36,000 less than the Performance version, which costs RM199,800. The Premium and Performance trims were introduced in February of this year.

The Seal Dynamic features a rear-wheel-drive configuration with a single electric motor, similar to the one found in the Atto 3 SUV and Dolphin Premium Extended Range. It produces 204 PS (150 kW) and 310 Nm of torque, a considerable reduction from the Premium ER’s 313 PS and 360 Nm and the Performance’s 530 PS and 670 Nm. Consequently, the Dynamic achieves a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 7.5 seconds, compared to 5.9 seconds for the Premium and 3.8 seconds for the Performance.

It is equipped with a 61.4 kWh Blade LFP battery, providing a range of up to 460 km on the WLTP cycle, and supports 110 kW DC fast charging (BYD)

This variant is equipped with a 61.4 kWh Blade lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery, offering up to 460 km of range according to WLTP standards. In comparison, the Premium and Performance models have larger 82.5 kWh batteries, providing 570 km and 520 km of range, respectively.

The Dynamic supports 7 kW AC Type 2 charging, requiring 8.6 hours for a full charge. It also has a DC fast-charging capability of 110 kW, whereas the Premium and Performance can charge at 150 kW.

Built on BYD’s e-platform 3.0, the Seal Dynamic measures 4,800 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,460 mm in height, with a 2,920 mm wheelbase. It weighs 1,922 kg, lighter than the Premium (2,055 kg) and Performance (2,185 kg) models. The car offers 400 liters of rear boot space and 50 liters at the front.

The Dynamic model includes LED headlights, daytime running lights, tail lights, retractable door handles, and a panoramic roof. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels with Giti Comfort 225 tires, unlike the 19-inch wheels found on the higher trims.

Inside, the car features a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, and a 12-speaker Dynaudio audio system. Additional amenities include ventilated and heated seats, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, NFC key card access, a head-up display, and two wireless charging pads.

The Seal Dynamic is available in Cosmos Black and Aurora White, excluding the Atlantis Grey and Arctic Blue colors offered on the higher models. It comes with a six-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty, an eight-year/160,000 km battery warranty, and an eight-year/150,000 km drive unit warranty.
