The 2024 BYD Atto 3 has made its debut in Malaysia at the Sime Darby Motors Automania event. This year, the focus is solely on the Extended Range (ER) model, which has seen a price reduction. The new ER variant is priced at RM149,800 (RM150,430 on-the-road without insurance), a noteworthy decrease of RM18,000 from last year’s price of RM167,800 (RM168,430 OTR).
The 2024 Atto 3 ER retains its impressive 60.48 kWh Blade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, providing a robust range of 420 km according to WLTP standards. It is powered by a single front motor that generates 204 PS (150 kW) and 310 Nm of torque, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.3 seconds, a slight improvement from before.
Fast charging capabilities include 88 kW DC, enabling a charge from 10 to 80% in 40 minutes, while AC charging remains at a maximum of 7 kW, taking approximately 9 hours and 42 minutes for a full charge.
Externally, the 2024 model introduces fresh design elements, including black window surrounds and D-pillars, replacing the former silver accents. The rear now features a streamlined BYD badge, and a new Cosmos Black color option has been added. The ER model is equipped with 18-inch turbine-style alloy wheels fitted with Continental EcoContact 6Q tires, an upgrade from the previous Atlas Batman A51 tires.
Inside, the Atto 3 ER features a larger 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, up from 12.8 inches, and a stylish black and dark blue two-tone interior for Boulder Grey or Cosmos Black exterior colors. Exclusive additions for the ER include multi-color ambient lighting, nine speakers (an increase from six), and a powered tailgate.
Standard equipment comprises adaptive LED headlights, roof rails, keyless entry with an NFC key card, push-button start, single-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable front seats (six-way for the driver and four-way for the passenger), faux leather upholstery, a panoramic glass sunroof, heated side mirrors, navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Qi wireless charger, and a 360-degree camera system.
For safety, the Atto 3 is equipped with seven airbags, stability control, and a suite of driver assistance features including autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, lane centring assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, rear collision warning, and door opening warning.
