Malaysia is set to host the Autobacs Super GT at the Sepang International Circuit from 2025 to 2027, following an agreement between Haro Sports & Entertainment, the Malaysian race promoter, and the GT Association (GTA).
After a long break, the Super GT is returning to Malaysia. The last official race took place between 2000 and 2013, with plans for a return in 2020 postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic and eventually canceled.
Scheduled for June 27-28, 2025, the Malaysian round will be the only overseas stop in the series since 2019, taking place between rounds held at Japan’s Fuji Speedway in May and August.
Additionally, the Super GT season will start at the Okayama International Circuit in Japan on April 12-13. Other rounds in Japan will be held at Suzuka Circuit, Sportsland SUGO, Autopolis, and Mobility Resort Motegi.
With two classes, GT500 and GT300, Super GT races operate under different regulations. Haro Sports & Entertainment managing partner Fahrizal Hasan confirmed that the Malaysian race will include two “wildcard” drivers from Malaysia and Indonesia. Details about ticketing and other information will be provided in due course.
