2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV Facelift Debuts XRT Variant with Enhanced Off-Road Capability and 23mm Suspension Lift

Hyundai has introduced the updated 2025 Ioniq 5 in the US, enhancing the EV with a larger battery, extended driving range, and new features. This refresh introduces a rugged XRT variant, tailored for off-road enthusiasts.

The exterior now showcases revamped front and rear bumpers, a new rear spoiler, and more aerodynamic wheels. Hyundai has also added fresh color options, including Atlas White Matte, Ecotronic Gray Matte, and Celadon Gray Matte. Additionally, the body, doors, and B-pillar have been reinforced to bolster side collision safety.

Inside, the Ioniq 5 features redesigned AC controls, a new center console with physical controls for heated front seats, and a reimagined steering wheel. The wireless charging pad has been repositioned for better accessibility.

The updated model includes a next-gen infotainment system with a 12.3-inch display that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across all trims. All variants now come with wireless Over-The-Air (OTA) updates to keep the software and major controls current.

Battery capacity has increased, with standard models now offering 63 kWh (up from 58 kWh) and long-range versions reaching 84 kWh (up from 77.4 kWh). This upgrade is expected to extend the range by about 20 miles (32 km). The Ioniq 5 also incorporates a Tesla North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, providing access to Tesla’s Supercharger network, thereby doubling the DC fast-charging network available to owners.

The new XRT variant, designed for off-road use, features unique bumpers, side skirts, and a distinctive digital camouflage pattern inspired by the Ioniq pixel. It comes exclusively in dual-motor AWD with an 84 kWh battery and has been lifted by 23 mm to enhance ground clearance, improving its approach and departure angles.

Inside the XRT, you’ll find H-Tex seating with a unique pattern, XRT-branded all-weather mats, and a black headliner, emphasizing its rugged design.
