At the ongoing Sime Darby Motors AutoMania event in Bukit Jalil, the 2024 Volvo C40 Recharge stands out with its extensive customization options. This particular model showcases a striking all-black aesthetic, beginning with its Onyx Black exterior paint. It features 20-inch blacked-out wheels, upgraded from the standard 19-inch size, equipped with Pirelli P Zero Elect tires – 235/45R20 in the front and 255/40R20 in the rear.
Additional enhancements include rubberized side steps and a digital mirror inside the cabin, pushing the price of this model up by RM43,000 from the base price of the C40 Recharge. The 2024 version of this electric vehicle benefits from an upgraded battery with a capacity of 82 kWh (79 kWh usable), an improvement over the previous 78 kWh (75 kWh usable) battery, resulting in a boosted range of up to 550 km per charge.
Charging capabilities have also been enhanced, with a maximum rate of 200 kW DC, allowing a 10-80% charge in just 27 minutes. The dual-motor setup consists of a 159 PS front motor and a 249 PS rear motor, together delivering 408 PS and 670 Nm of torque. This powertrain accelerates the C40 Recharge from 0-100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds.
The C40 Recharge comes equipped with advanced Pixel LED headlamps featuring matrix technology with 84 individual LEDs per cluster, and an adaptive high beam function, replacing the older reflector LED design.
In Malaysia, the starting price for the Volvo C40 Recharge is RM288,888, excluding insurance. Each purchase includes a five-year Digital Services subscription, offering access to Google Assistant, Google Maps, the Google Play Store, and Volvo Cars app remote functions. Buyers also benefit from a five-year unlimited-mileage warranty, an eight-year/160,000 km battery warranty, a five-year/100,000 km free service package, and five years of roadside assistance.
