Kove Moto is gradually gaining attention in Malaysia’s dual-purpose motorcycle market after making appearances at off-road competitions and various exhibitions. If you’re unfamiliar with Kove Moto, it’s understandable, as this relatively new player in the industry is just starting to make its mark here.
Founded by Zhang Xue, a former professional enduro and off-road rider, Kove Moto is based in Chongqing, China’s hub for motorcycle manufacturing. The brand made its international debut at Italy’s EICMA show and has since risen to become China’s fourth-largest motorcycle brand in the over 300 cc category.
Kove produces a variety of models, ranging from the 321R naked sports bike to the retro-inspired 510F scrambler. However, in Malaysia, the company is focusing on the dual-purpose segment, specifically with the Kove 450 Rally.
This focus was highlighted during the 2023 “Jungle to Sea” enduro event, where the Kove 450 Rally was showcased. The brand also recently competed in the 2024 Asia Cross Country Rally in Thailand.
Kove Moto Malaysia, which represents the brand locally, has centered its attention on off-road riding with the Kove 450, putting it to the test in Malaysia’s unforgiving jungle terrain, known for its challenging conditions.
Although Kove Moto Malaysia is keeping its future plans under wraps, there are hints that the Kove 450 will be officially launched in the Malaysian market in late 2024. Moreover, the brand has plans to expand its range, potentially introducing new models in the coming year.
Kove Moto was first reported by paultan.org in June 2022 when the “Kove Hyper” brand name was trademarked in Malaysia, signaling the company’s intent to establish a foothold in the region.
