The theatrical release of Surya’s Saturday, featuring Nani, is set for August 29. Directed by Vivek Athreya, the Telugu film explores the life of Surya, a character struggling with anger management. His mother suggests that he reserve Saturday for expressing his frustrations.

In an interview with ETimes, Nani shared his thoughts on the film’s box office potential and the challenges of competing with other major pan-India films like RRR, Pushpa, and Kalki 2898 AD. He stated, “I don’t view Surya’s Saturday as a pan-India project.

Nani appreciates North and Hindi audience support but views Surya’s Saturday as a modest release (DVV Entertainments)

It’s primarily being released in Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi to cater to audiences in their preferred languages. My goal is not to hit specific numbers or achieve pan-India status but to make the film accessible to viewers who have followed me through OTT or other means.”

He further explained, “I appreciate the support I’ve received from North and Hindi audiences, particularly for my previous films Hi Papa and Dasara. This film is mainly a Telugu release with a slightly broader Tamil release. Comparing it to RRR, Pushpa, or Baahubali isn’t relevant; I’m just a modest actor bringing a modest film.”

During Nani’s 40th birthday celebration in February, the teaser for Surya’s Saturday was revealed, showcasing Nani in an intense action role. The teaser announcement read, “Happy Birthday Brother Nani. Here’s our MASS treat for all… Saripodhaa Sanivaaram glimpse.”
