In La Liga’s third match week, Barcelona took on Rayo Vallecano, but the match started poorly for the Catalan side, as they conceded an early goal in just the 9th minute.

However, the game took a decisive turn after Hansi Flick’s halftime pep talk and the substitution of Dani Olmo for Ferran Torres. Olmo, Barcelona’s marquee signing, made an immediate impact in his debut, leading the team’s comeback with a stunning left-footed strike from the edge of the box in the 82nd minute.

In his post-match interview, the 26-year-old expressed his excitement: “I feel fantastic. I was eagerly waiting for this moment, and there’s no better way to make my debut,” Olmo stated. “I’m always focused on scoring or creating opportunities because that’s what I do as an attacking player,” he added.

He also touched on Barcelona’s history at this venue, saying, “We haven’t won here in several years, so we’re thrilled with both the victory and our performance.”

Olmo went on to explain the reason behind his celebratory dance with Lamine Yamal: “Lamine and I talked before the match, agreeing that if I scored, we would celebrate together,” Olmo shared. His standout performance in both attack and defense earned him the MVP title for the match.

Despite Barcelona’s challenging transfer window due to financial constraints, Dani Olmo appears to be an excellent investment, poised to make a positive impact on the team.
