2025 Mercedes-Maybach S680 Nordic Glow: Northern Lights Inspiration, Sky-High Price

2025 Mercedes-Maybach S680 Nordic Glow (Mercedes-Maybach)

Mercedes-Maybach, much like other ultra-luxury automakers, offers its elite clientele the chance to tailor their vehicles through its Manufaktur program. However, Maybach takes this concept further by crafting special editions that it likens to gourmet tasting menus, meticulously curated for a discerning audience. The latest offering, uncovered at the 2024 Monterey Auto Week, is the S680 Edition Nordic Glow, drawing inspiration from the ethereal beauty of the northern lights over the Arctic Circle.

The S680 Edition Nordic Glow’s defining feature is its striking two-tone exterior, combining Northern Lights Violet Metallic with Moonlight White Metallic paint, accentuated by darkened chrome elements from the Night Series Design Package. The vehicle sits on elegant 21-inch wheels, designed in Maybach’s signature “champagne flute” multi-spoke style.

Inside, the cabin is adorned with luxurious Rose Grey nappa leather, detailed with grey contrast stitching. This opulent leather extends beyond the seating to wrap the steering wheel, rear seat tables, and even the piping on the plush shag-carpet floor mats.

Complementing the leather is dark walnut wood, arranged in a sophisticated herringbone pattern, mirroring the style found in Night Series models. Powering this masterpiece is the formidable 621-horsepower twin-turbo V-12 engine, the same powerhouse found in other S680 sedans.

This edition is anything but ordinary: each S680 Nordic Glow comes with the Executive Rear Seat Package Plus, featuring first-class airline-style reclining seats, temperature-controlled cupholders, and a rear-seat refrigerator complete with champagne flutes—though buyers must supply their own champagne.

What truly distinguishes the S680 Nordic Glow is its exclusivity. Only 50 units will be produced, each individually numbered, and all are destined for the U.S. market. Priced at $340,150, this limited-edition Maybach is a testament to opulence, likely to be revered at future Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance events.
