GMC Yukon 2025 Redesign: Modern Look, Advanced Features, and Greater Luxury

General Motors is revamping its lineup of full-size SUVs, and GMC is now introducing its refreshed 2025 Yukon, following updates to the Tahoe and Escalade. This latest Yukon update brings redesigned aesthetics, advanced technology, and a touch of luxury.

The 2025 Yukon showcases new grille designs across different trims, updated headlights and taillights, square quad exhausts, and revised bumpers front and rear. The Denali Ultimate trim features a striking new GMC badge that intricately illustrates the topography of Mount Denali. Additionally, a new 24-inch wheel option is available for the Denali Ultimate, setting a new standard in wheel size. These 24-inch wheels are only available with the air suspension and MagneRide dampers, ensuring that ride comfort remains high despite the low-profile tires.

For the 2024 model year, GMC is streamlining the Yukon’s trim options by eliminating the SLE and SLT trims and introducing a new Elevation “base” trim. The new AT4 Ultimate trim combines the off-road capabilities of the AT4 with the high-tech and luxurious features of the Denali, catering to those who desire both ruggedness and sophistication.

Inside, the Yukon gets a major update with a new, large 16.8-inch vertical touchscreen infotainment system, first seen in the Sierra EV. This screen runs on Android Automotive software, integrating Google Maps as the standard navigation system and Google Assistant for voice control. The Yukon also introduces a Night Vision thermal detection mode in its digital cluster, along with new driver assistance systems. Super Cruise, GM’s hands-free driving technology, remains available.

The rear seat area now includes an 8-inch touchscreen for climate control, and the Denali Ultimate offers an “Executive Seating” package with heated, ventilated, and massaging captain’s chairs in the second row, complete with in-headrest speakers.

The powertrain options for the refreshed Yukon largely carry over from the previous model, with the 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8 engines remaining unchanged. The 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel inline-six, however, receives updates that enhance its output to 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque. This engine, which was discontinued in the Escalade’s refresh, remains popular with Yukon buyers, who have consistently chosen the diesel option at rates between 10-15% annually.

GMC has yet to announce the price for the updated 2025 Yukon, but it is expected to be available for purchase in the fourth quarter of this year.
