GM Introduces GMC Yukon ‘AT4 Ultimate’ to Enhance High-End SUV Sales and Profitability

General Motors is enhancing its premium GMC Yukon lineup with the introduction of a new “AT4 Ultimate” variant for the 2025 model year, slotting between the luxurious “Denali” and “Denali Ultimate” trims. Although GM has not disclosed the price for the AT4 Ultimate, the Denali models are priced around $77,300 and just under $100,000, while the current AT4 starts at approximately $73,500.

The Denali series, celebrating its 25th anniversary, has become a revenue driver for GMC. Recently, the brand introduced the “Ultimate” and “AT4” trims to further diversify and raise the high-end offerings, blending off-road aesthetics with premium features. Duncan Aldred, GMC’s global vice president, emphasized that the AT4 Ultimate trim raises GMC’s flagship model by combining rugged performance with luxury and refinement.

The AT4 models make up about 17% of the Yukon’s total sales, whereas Denali models account for over 50% of sales. The new AT4 Ultimate will feature a front skid plate, 20-inch all-terrain wheels, and a four-corner adaptive air suspension system that can lift the vehicle by up to 2 inches, among other enhancements.

These higher-end models have helped GMC achieve an average transaction price of around $80,000 for the Yukon. In addition to the AT4 Ultimate, the 2025 Yukon will offer refreshed styling, larger displays, second-row executive seating, and an expanded option for a 3.0-liter diesel engine, aimed at improving range and fuel efficiency compared to gasoline versions.

Production of the 2025 GMC Yukon will take place at GM’s Arlington Assembly plant in Texas, with availability expected by late 2024.
