On Wednesday night, Hurd is set to square off against Jeison Rosario at the Whitesands Events Center, also known as ProBox TV, in Plant City, Florida. This 10-round middleweight matchup will serve as the headliner of a four-fight card that will stream live on ProBox TV’s app and YouTube channel at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

This fight presents an intriguing crossroads for both Hurd and Rosario, former unified champions at 154 pounds. Chris Glover of ProBox TV anticipates an exciting clash, given that both fighters are nearing the final stages of their careers, with the winner potentially securing future opportunities.

“The loser might consider retirement,” Glover shared with The Ring. “It’s about who has more left in the tank. Expect a shootout as both fighters aim to prove they can still challenge for a title in a wide-open middleweight division.”

Accokeek, Maryland’s Hurd (25-3, 17 KOs) is remembered for his thrilling split-decision victory over Erislandy Lara in 2018, where he retained his IBF title and captured the WBA belt. However, after losing to Julian Williams in 2019, Hurd’s momentum faltered, culminating in a knockout defeat against Jose Resendiz last year.

In his most recent bout on December 8, Hurd stopped Tyi Edmonds after four rounds, and Glover believes a dominant performance against Rosario could propel Hurd into contention at 160 pounds.

Rosario (24-4-1, 18 KOs), hailing from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, claimed a victory in his last fight, but before that, he suffered knockout losses to Jermell Charlo and Erickson Lubin. The co-main event will feature unbeaten bantamweight prospect Michael Angeletti (11-0, 7 KOs) against Gerardo Valdez (16-1, 11 KOs).
