Rockies, Led by Nolan Jones, Look for Another Win Over Nationals

As the season nears its end, Colorado Rockies outfielder Nolan Jones is finally looking to turn things around after battling through several injuries. Now fully recovered, Jones is determined to finish the year on a high note. Jones remains a key player in the Rockies’ future plans as they continue their three-game series against the Washington Nationals on Wednesday.

During his first game back after his stint on the injured list, the 26-year-old contributed massively to Colorado’s 3-1 victory on Tuesday, delivering an RBI single and making a crucial sliding catch to prevent a run from scoring.

“He’s got to be feeling good after tonight,” said Rockies manager Bud Black. “It’s been some time since he’s had a big impact on both sides. That hit was huge for us, and that catch was a game-changer.”

The Rockies, who have now won three of their last four games, are happy to have Jones back in action. Due to back and left knee injuries, Jones has only managed to hit .204 over 50 games this season.

Reflecting on his struggles, Jones said, “This season didn’t go how I hoped. I wanted to be out there every day with Brenton Doyle, chasing down balls and hitting 20-30 homers. But I believe I’ll be doing just that next season.”

On Tuesday, Colorado limited Washington to just five hits, handing the Nationals their fifth defeat in six games.
