Hulk Hogan, a Hall of Famer in professional wrestling, stirred controversy on Monday evening by suggesting he might “body-slam” Vice President Kamala Harris during a promotional event in Medina, Ohio. Addressing the crowd, Hogan asked, “You want me to body slam somebody? How about Kamala Harris? Want me to drop the leg on Kamala?”
Furthering the contentious remarks, Hogan questioned Harris’s heritage, saying, “Is Kamala a chameleon? Is she Indian?” He then performed a stereotypical gesture, saying, “How,” in a manner reminiscent of a Native American or “American Indian” stereotype.
Hogan, who previously faced backlash for using the N-word and was dismissed from WWE in 2015, remarked, “I’m gonna get heat for that one, brother. That wasn’t me, that was the beers talking.” The incident, captured in a clip that went viral on Tuesday, coincided with the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
Hogan had previously made headlines last month at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, where he delivered an energetic speech praising former President Donald Trump and Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance, calling them “the greatest tag team” he had ever seen.
