Jung Kook’s ‘I Am Still’ Documentary Set for Worldwide Theater Premiere

On September 18, Jung Kook, a member of the globally renowned K-pop group BTS, will uncover his new documentary, “Jung Kook: I Am Still.” This film is described as a video diary chronicling his “eight-month journey” leading up to his solo debut and will be showcased in theaters worldwide.

Directed by Junsoo Park, known for his work on various BTS-related films and other Big Hit Music projects, “Jung Kook: I Am Still” will debut on September 18. The documentary will have limited screenings in over 120 countries and regions globally, though a detailed list of cities has yet to be released. Tickets will become available for purchase starting August 21.

According to a press release from Big Hit, the documentary begins with the release of Jung Kook’s single “Seven,” featuring American rapper Latto, and follows the lead-up to his solo album “Golden.”

The film includes exclusive footage, interviews, and dynamic live performances that explore Jung Kook’s creative journey, his relentless work ethic, and the challenges faced by a global superstar. It aims to provide an intimate view of the artist’s evolution and his rise to global stardom.

Trafalgar Releasing will handle the film’s distribution. CEO Marc Allenby expressed enthusiasm about continuing their partnership with Hybe, noting that the documentary represents a remarkable shared experience for fans. “Seven (feat. Latto)” achieved No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and marked the first single from “Golden,” which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Reflecting on his solo debut, Jung Kook shared with Variety, “It’s my official solo debut, so everything feels new and challenging. My focus is on delivering exceptional music and performance, but I also want to present a more mature version of myself as a solo artist.”
