The Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts will host the Filmland Film Festival from August 14 to 18, organized by the Arkansas Cinema Society. This year, Colman Domingo will be honored with the inaugural Southern Storytellers award, recognizing his exceptional role in A24’s “Sing Sing.”

Domingo, who stars as Divine G—a man wrongfully convicted who finds redemption through theater with fellow inmates—will also participate in a post-screening discussion. The panel will include co-writer and producer Bentley, producer Walton, and moderator Nichols, providing insights into the film and Domingo’s dual role as actor and executive producer.

Peter Debruge, chief film critic at Variety, will lead the Southern Storytellers panel presented by the magazine. The panel will feature a diverse lineup of speakers, including Domingo (“Sing Sing,” “Rustin”), Jeff Nichols (“The Bikeriders”), Craig Brewer (“Hustle & Flow,” “Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist”), Kyle Hausmann-Stokes (“My Dead Friend Zoe”), Michael Schwartz (“The Peanut Butter Falcon,” “Los Frikis”), Christy Hall (“Daddio,” “It Ends With Us”), Clint Bentley (“Sing Sing,” “Jockey”), and Monique Walton (“Sing Sing,” “Bull”).

On August 14, Hart Denton and Dylan Sprouse, who are both actors and executive producers, will spotlight their film, “The Duel.” Denton, a native of Little Rock, will join Sprouse for a Q&A session following the screening.

The festival will also offer a sneak peek at Peacock’s “Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist,” with a Q&A featuring director and executive producer Brewer. Additional screenings will include “My Dead Friend Zoe,” “Los Frikis,” “Daddio,” and “The Peanut Butter Falcon.” The full festival schedule is available on the organization’s website.
