Saudi Club Eyeing Billion-Euro Deal for Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior

Sources close to Real Madrid and Brazil forward Vinicius Jr suggest he is considering a potential offer exceeding one billion euros from Saudi Arabia.nAt 24, Vinicius was reportedly approached by officials from the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) with a proposal to join the Saudi Pro League (SPL) on a five-year contract valued at around €200 million per season, plus bonuses.

The offer also includes a separate 10-year ambassadorial role for the 2034 World Cup, which will be hosted by Saudi Arabia, though those terms are still under negotiation.

Real Madrid is unlikely to sell Vinicius, given his €1 billion buy-out clause and their desire to keep him (Real Madrid)

While no formal offer has been made, Vinicius has not ruled out the possibility and has granted PIF permission to engage with Real Madrid, according to Reuters. Despite being content in Madrid, Vinicius and his team believe such a lucrative offer warrants careful consideration.

A source close to the player indicated that Real Madrid is not interested in selling, emphasizing his one-billion euro buy-out clause. Both Real Madrid and PIF have declined to comment on the situation.

Saudi Arabia’s ambition to be recognized as a soccer powerhouse is reflected in their Sports Clubs Investment and Privatization Project, where PIF acquired 75% of the capital of the country’s top four clubs: Al Ahli, Al Ittihad, Al Hilal, and Al Nassr.

Al Hilal’s record €90 million purchase of Neymar and Al Nassr’s signing of Cristiano Ronaldo highlight their ambitions. PIF’s unsuccessful attempt to sign Kylian Mbappe is also noted, with Mbappe choosing to join Real Madrid instead.

Vinicius, who extended his contract with Real Madrid until 2027, has been linked to Al Ahli, where he could potentially play alongside Riyad Mahrez and Roberto Firmino. His contributions to Real Madrid’s Champions League and LaLiga victories last season make him a strong candidate for the Ballon d’Or.

Meanwhile, Martin Zubimendi is expected to reject a move to Liverpool, opting instead to remain with Real Sociedad, where he is reportedly open to signing a new contract.
