Adam Idah is on the verge of finalizing his move to Celtic this week, with the club agreeing to pay Norwich City a minimum of £8.5 million for his transfer.
The 23-year-old, who enjoyed a successful loan stint in Glasgow from January, scored nine goals during his time there, including the decisive strike in the Scottish Cup final against Rangers.
Idah expressed his desire to join Celtic permanently upon his return to pre-season training, but negotiations stalled, preventing him from traveling with Brendan Rodgers’ squad to the USA. After several offers under £6 million were turned down, Celtic secured Idah’s signature with a deal that could rise to £9.5 million with add-ons.
Norwich City is also reported to have included a 15 percent sell-on clause in the agreement. Idah is now expected to finalize personal terms and undergo a medical, with the possibility of making his debut against Hibernian in the League Cup tie at Celtic Park on Sunday.
