Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah Linked with Premier League Club as Marseille Transfer Falls Apart

Eddie Nketiah’s departure from Arsenal this summer remains a possibility, with reports indicating that a Premier League club is in discussions to sign the striker. Nketiah, who has earned one cap for England, was on the verge of joining Olympique Marseille after agreeing to personal terms with the French club.

However, negotiations between Arsenal and Marseille stalled over the transfer fee, with Arsenal demanding €30 million (£25.6 million) for Nketiah. Following the breakdown in talks, Marseille has reportedly withdrawn from the deal and instead finalized an agreement to sign Elye Wahi from Lens.

This development is disappointing for Nketiah, who was eager to join manager Roberto De Zerbi and secure more playing time after starting just 10 Premier League matches last season.

Nevertheless, Nketiah could still secure a move away from Arsenal, as Fabrizio Romano reports that Bournemouth has identified him as a potential replacement for Dominic Solanke. Solanke recently completed a record £65 million transfer to Tottenham, leaving Bournemouth in need of a new striker after his 19-goal haul last season.

Although Bournemouth initially targeted Porto’s Evanilson, they are now exploring alternatives after their initial bid was rejected. Nketiah is one of the options under consideration, and discussions between the two Premier League clubs have reportedly already begun.

With the new season starting this weekend, Bournemouth is likely to move quickly to secure a replacement. They are set to face Nottingham Forest on Saturday, while Arsenal will play Wolves at the same time.
