At D23, Dwayne Johnson introduced a brand-new “live-action experience” called “Monster Jam,” set in the adrenaline-filled world of motorsports. Speaking at Disney’s Friday night panel in Anaheim, Johnson expressed his excitement for the project, which promises to deliver a thrilling and immersive experience for families.
He described “Monster Jam” as an adventure seen through the eyes of legendary monster trucks and their unique, larger-than-life drivers, promising that the project will be an exhilarating ride for all.
Details about “Monster Jam” remain under wraps, with no specific information on whether it will be a film, series, or something entirely different, and how it will be released.
However, Johnson shared his passion for the subject, noting, “I’m really excited to share this with you all. As many of you know, I’m a huge fan of pickup trucks—that’s what I drive. I love motorsports, and monster trucks have always been a favorite.”
Before announcing “Monster Jam,” Johnson entertained the audience with some dance moves and introduced the trailer for “Moana 2.” In addition to reprising his role as Maui in the sequel, Johnson is also involved in the production of the live-action remake of the original “Moana,” where he will once again portray Maui.
Johnson’s history with Disney spans decades, including starring roles in movies like “The Game Plan” (2007), “Race to Witch Mountain” (2009), and “Jungle Cruise” (2021). He has also made cameo appearances as himself in Disney Channel shows such as “Cory in the House,” “Hannah Montana,” and “Wizards of Waverly Place.”
