At D23, Disney and Pixar revealed the first trailer for the new “Inside Out” television series titled “Dream Productions.” Pixar’s Pete Docter expressed his gratitude to fans, acknowledging the massive success of “Inside Out 2,” which became the highest-grossing animated film ever.

He shared exciting news about the new series, which is set to debut in 2025 and takes place between the first and second movies, functioning as an “in-betweenquel.”

The series “Dream Productions” promises to reveal how Riley’s dreams are crafted, marking a unique new chapter in the “Inside Out” universe (Pixar)

The series is set in a studio where Riley’s dreams are created each night, with some memories requiring extra processing before being transformed into dreams by a film crew. Docter highlighted the uniqueness of the series, emphasizing it as Pixar’s first original show, distinct from their previous projects.

In a prior interview with Entertainment Weekly, Docter hinted at the show’s completion, noting that it would premiere in the spring, though no specific release date had been confirmed. He elaborated on how the series will continue exploring the creation of Riley’s dreams and their impact on her waking life.

The success of “Inside Out 2,” which grossed $1.5 billion worldwide, solidified its place as a box office giant, even surpassing “Frozen 2.” The film revisits the now-teenaged Riley, introducing new emotions like Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment, and Nostalgia, which bring fresh challenges as she navigates summer camp.
