The trailer for ‘It Ends With Us’ has captured fans’ attention with Taylor Swift’s track “My Tears Ricochet,” and Blake Lively, who both stars in and produces the film, acknowledges that virtually any song from Swift’s discography could have been equally fitting.

At the film’s premiere in New York, Lively, sporting a classic Versace dress previously worn by Britney Spears, elaborated on the choice of “My Tears Ricochet” for the trailer and its role in the movie. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she remarked, “Every song of hers is outstanding; we could have selected any one.

Even a simple voice memo could have been an amazing addition to the film.” The song, featured on Swift’s 2020 album Folklore, was identified by director and co-star Justin Baldoni as a choice Lively made, commenting, “I claim no credit for that; Blake was entirely responsible,” during a discussion at The Garfield Movie premiere in May.

Adapted from Colleen Hoover’s popular novel, the film centers on Lily Bloom (played by Lively), who, after overcoming a troubled past, embarks on a new phase of her life. She develops a relationship with neurosurgeon Ryle (Baldoni), only to discover troubling parallels to her parents’ tumultuous relationship.

Lively reflected on the production process, stating that the off-screen challenges were greater than those on-screen, but she welcomed the challenge. She expressed pride in the project, noting, “I relish challenges, and I’m deeply proud of all aspects of this film. We navigated a spectrum of human experiences, and I’m thrilled with the result.”
