The Maybach SL Will Make Its Debut at Pebble Beach, Mercedes Confirms

Maybach S (Mercedes-Maybach)

A more opulent variant of the Mercedes SL is nearing its debut. Initially teased as the Maybach SL concept two years ago, the production model is now set to make its appearance. The luxurious convertible will be disclosed at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance during Monterey Car Week.

The 2022 concept provided a limited glimpse, showcasing only part of the car’s grille adorned with prominent Maybach branding and a gloss-black hood featuring subtle Maybach emblems. However, we anticipate numerous styling enhancements on the production model.

The Maybach SL debuts on August 18 at Pebble Beach’s Concept Lawn (Mercedes-Maybach)

Previous Maybach updates have included exclusive paint jobs, distinctive two-tone color schemes, hand-drawn pinstripes, unique wheels, and eye-catching trim. The SL is expected to follow suit with similarly luxurious features.

Inside, we anticipate opulent leather options, high-quality materials, and several Manufaktur upgrades, along with a comprehensive list of standard features. Details, including any potential powertrain enhancements, will be revealed on Sunday, August 18, when Mercedes reveals the car on the concourse’s “Concept Lawn.”

The Maybach SL won’t be the only highlight at Pebble Beach this year. Mercedes will also introduce a limited special edition Mercedes-AMG GT3 race car, commemorating 130 years of motorsports. The special edition will be restricted to just 13 units, and Mercedes will also present the Mercedes-Maybach S 680 Edition Nordic Glow.
