Jordan Chiles, an Olympic gold medalist and two-time NCAA national champion, will be making a comeback to UCLA. She revealed her decision during an appearance on NBC’s “Today” show.
“I know many of you have been eagerly waiting for this announcement—I’m coming back to UCLA to represent the Bruins for my final two years of college,” Chiles, 23, stated. “You’ll see me back at Pauley Pavilion this season.”
Chiles is returning from the Paris Olympics with a gold medal as part of the U.S. women’s gymnastics team and a bronze in the floor exercise. Her previous achievements include a team silver from the Tokyo Olympics. During her college career, Chiles secured national titles in both floor and uneven bars in 2023 and earned a silver in the all-around. She took the 2024 season off to train in Texas with Simone Biles.
On a related note, Jade Carey, another American gymnast, has also announced her return to collegiate competition at Oregon State. Carey boasts three Olympic medals: a team gold and a bronze on vault from Paris, plus a gold in floor exercise from Tokyo. In NCAA championships, the 24-year-old Carey has accumulated five medals, including four silver and one bronze.
