Honda, Nissan, and Mitsubishi’s recent agreement to collaborate on technology and electrification has sparked curiosity about the potential vehicles that might emerge from this alliance.
Nissan and Mitsubishi are already key players in the pick-up truck arena with their Navara and Triton models, with the latest Triton debuting in July. Meanwhile, Honda hasn’t entered this segment, as its Ridgeline is a unibody vehicle designed specifically for North America.
Imagining what a Honda ladder-frame pick-up could look like, digital artist Theophilus Chin has crafted a concept based on the latest Triton. This design fuses Honda’s front-end styling with the body of the Triton, resulting in a softer appearance. The front fascia, borrowed from the WR-V in Japan or the Elevate in India, gives this imagined truck a unique identity.
This conceptual truck features design elements like the WR-V/Elevate’s headlights, grille, and other front-end details, along with smoother, more rounded wheel arches compared to the Triton’s sharper design.
While the main structure of the cabin and bed is largely unchanged from the Triton, elements like the window lines, door designs, and sports bar remain consistent with the base model.
What sets this concept apart is a new character line starting at the hood and running along the doors, ending before the tail lamps, adding a distinct touch. At the rear, the design integrates extended character lines that span the tailgate and side panels, creating a different look compared to the Triton’s shorter lines.
Additionally, redesigned tail lamps with C-shaped light patterns, and the Triton’s original tailgate handle and brake lamp, round out this hypothetical Honda truck’s design.
