BMW Motorrad CE 02 Electric Scooter Designed with Vagabund

In a unique partnership between BMW Motorrad and the Graz-based Vagabund Moto design studio, the BMW CE 02 x Vagabund electric scooter has been disclosed. Dubbed the “eParkourer” by BMW Motorrad, this model is tailored for urban environments, particularly targeting younger riders.

Paul Brauchart, founder and managing director of Vagabund Moto, commented, “We aimed to blend a very futuristic base design with some retro touches to create a sense of familiarity for the viewers.” Crafted in Austria, the CE 02 Vagabund incorporates functional retro-inspired features, such as the OB-4 Magic Radio portable speaker from Teenage Engineering, a Czech audio company.

A distinctive design element introduced by Vagabund is the “electric exhaust,” which serves both as a stylistic feature and a hidden compartment for a folding umbrella. Reflecting its urban eParkourer theme, the scooter’s running board is covered with skateboard grip tape. Despite these aesthetic modifications, the CE 02’s core specifications remain unchanged. It operates with an 11 kW motor, equivalent to 15 hp, and utilizes a non-swappable lithium-ion battery.

The battery charges from 20% to 80% in one hour and 40 minutes with a 1,500 kW fast charger, while a full charge takes approximately three hours and 30 minutes. Weighing 132 kg, the CE 02 accelerates from zero to 50 km/h in three seconds and has a top speed of 95 km/h with a travel range of up to 100 km. Riders can choose between two power modes: “Flow” for a relaxed ride and “Surf” for more dynamic acceleration.

The CE 02 features 14-inch wheels and includes front-wheel ABS, along with conveniences such as Keyless Ride, a USB-C charging port, reverse gear, Automatic Stability Control (ASC), and Recuperative Stability Control (RSC). In Malaysia, the BMW Motorrad CE 02 is priced at RM38,500.
