Nissan Frontier 2025: Enhanced with Bright Orange Color and Additional Bed Space

As the Nissan Frontier enters its third model year for 2025, the automaker has introduced a minor refresh to celebrate the milestone and keep the model up-to-date. Given that the Frontier is relatively new, the updates are modest, primarily affecting aesthetics, optional features, and performance. The current third-generation Frontier, which debuted in 2021 as a 2022 model, replaced the old second-generation variant that had been in production since 2005.

This previous model was nearly 17 years old and still used a platform originating from the 1980s and 1990s Nissan D21 “Hardbody” pickup. The new Frontier retained the original’s versatility and capability but has now been enhanced.

The maximum towing capacity of the Frontier has been boosted from 6,640 pounds to 7,150 pounds (Nissan)

Previously, the six-foot bed was available only with the King Cab, while the Crew Cab offered only a 5.1-foot bed. The latest update allows buyers to choose a 6.1-foot bed on all models, regardless of cab configuration or trim, increasing cargo space and versatility.

Additionally, the Frontier’s maximum towing capacity has been raised from 6,640 pounds to 7,150 pounds, thanks to various under-the-skin revisions. All Frontier trims now come with a sliding rear window and a new overhead sunglasses holder.

Midrange SV models receive 17-inch alloy wheels, while the SL trim adds a wireless phone charger, Nissan’s Intelligent Around View Monitor 360-degree camera system, and a four-way powered passenger seat.

The SL also features a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, custom LED lighting, and a top-tier 10-speaker Fender Premium Sound System. The second-above-base SV trim gains a telescopic steering wheel column and a two-way power driver’s seat.

The Frontier’s powertrain remains unchanged, with the 3.8-liter direct-injected V6 and ZF nine-speed automatic transmission delivering 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque.

The PRO-X/PRO-4X models retain their all-terrain tires, additional skid plates, Bilstein off-road suspension, and electronic locking differential for enhanced off-road performance.
