Jude Bellingham, at just 21, excelled in an advanced position during his first season with Real Madrid, netting 23 goals in 42 matches and contributing to their La Liga and Champions League victories. Kylian Mbappe, aged 25, joined Real Madrid this summer on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.

Carlo Ancelotti refuted suggestions that Bellingham would be repositioned to accommodate Mbappe, stating firmly: “Nothing changes for him. Nothing changes.” He praised Bellingham for his outstanding debut season, highlighting his impressive quality and maturity. Ancelotti assured that the forthcoming season would see Bellingham continue to be a key player, contributing to the team with his skills.

Addressing criticism of Bellingham’s performances during Euro 2024, where England made it to the final, Ancelotti defended the midfielder’s efforts, emphasizing: “Bellingham played really well at the Euros.”

He noted that key players are accustomed to frequent matches and handle the demands effectively, suggesting fatigue was not a serious issue. Ancelotti also advised Chelsea’s new owners to exercise patience with their managers, given the recent dismissals of Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, and Mauricio Pochettino.

As he prepares to face his fellow countryman Enzo Maresca in their US tour finale at Bank of America Stadium on Tuesday, Ancelotti commended Chelsea’s investments, praising their squad and the potential of their young manager. He also clarified that Real Madrid does not need to re-sign Kepa Arrizabalaga, stating: “We love him, but we are covered in that position.”
