Proton eMas Announces 29 Dealer Agreements, 25 Openings at Launch, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching Among Locations

29 Outlets (Proton eMas)

In addition to showcasing the electric eMas 7 SUV, Proton has revealed the expansion of its electrified eMas (stylized as e.MAS) sub-brand with the signing of 29 dealers, an increase from the previous 18.

The company aims to have 25 of these new outlets operational by the car’s launch in December. These upcoming locations will be distributed across nearly all states, including Sabah and Sarawak.

As anticipated, most of the dealerships will be concentrated in the central region, with three in Kuala Lumpur (Cheras, Jalan Kuching, and Jalan Tun Razak) and nine in Selangor (two in Petaling Jaya and one each in Rawang, Glenmarie, Kajang, Puncak Jalil, Balakong, Shah Alam, and Puchong).

Proton’s eMas sub-brand now includes 29 dealers, up from 18 (Proton eMas)

There will be three showrooms in Johor (Plentong, Medini, and Johor Bahru) and Perak (two in Ipoh and one in Taiping), as well as two in Penang (Butterworth and Georgetown) and one in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Additional dealers will be located in Sungai Petani, Kedah; Kota Bharu, Kelantan; Kuala Terengganu, Kuantan, Pahang; Nilai, Negeri Sembilan; Melaka; and Kuching, Sarawak.

The inaugural model in the eMas series, the eMas 7, is being developed in collaboration with Geely alongside the Galaxy E5. Built on the Global Modular Architecture (GMA), it features a 12-in-1 motor with a claimed 90.04% efficiency and a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with Aegis “short blade” cells. The vehicle will also come equipped with the Flyme Auto infotainment system powered by a 7 nm chip.

While specific specifications are yet to be announced, the Galaxy E5 in China offers a single front motor producing 218 PS (160 kW) and 320 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.

The vehicle comes with two battery options in China: a 49.52 kWh version with a CLTC range of 440 km and a 60.22 kWh version with a claimed range of up to 530 km. It is expected that the eMas 7 will have similar mechanical features.
