Ford Maverick Expands Hybrid Lineup with New AWD Option

New AWD Option (Ford)

Ford has given its midsize Maverick truck a refresh for 2025, featuring a revamped appearance, improved infotainment, and, in response to popular demand, a new hybrid all-wheel-drive option.

Previously, the hybrid version of the Maverick was only available with front-wheel drive, meaning those who needed more rugged capability had to choose the gas-only model. With the latest update, the hybrid Maverick now offers all-wheel drive while maintaining the same power output as before.

2025 Ford Maverick Refresh Adds Hybrid All-Wheel Drive Option and New Features (Ford)

It’s equipped with a 2.5-liter hybrid engine paired with a 94kW electric motor, delivering 191 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque. The all-wheel-drive model achieves 40 miles per gallon in city driving, compared to 42 miles per gallon for the front-wheel-drive version, and it features a 13.8-gallon fuel tank.

The base model, the XL, is priced at $26,295 and includes the hybrid engine as standard. For those wanting all-wheel drive, an additional cost of $2,220 is required, though it is included with the Lariat trim, which starts at $36,735. This represents a considerable increase from the 2022 hybrid Maverick, which had a starting price of just $20,000.
